Kuryakyn Luggage
Rack-Light Install Tip These pictures and were sent in by Gary, a fellow Goldwing owner. He also describes how he added a light bar to the Kury Luggage Rack.
I got the light bar from a shop in Phoenix, I
checked and they have a web site.
http://store.yahoo.com/streetbeatcustoms. You need to make a mount for
the LED bar I had a piece of molding that was the same width( U shape) I
think I got this at Home depot or ACE not sure. I silicone glued the led
in the mount. I used the 3M epoxy tape to mount it. Believe me it will not
move with this stuff. I picked up some chrome I believe it is door molding
edging from pep boys or any auto store. The wiring is mounted in this and
is fastened the same method as light bar along the bottom of rack as seen
in attached image labeled B the mount is shown labeled A. The wiring is
protected and not seen it runs to the back of the rack shown as C a small
hole is drilled in the top and a small rubber grommet is inserted and
silicone. Since the rack is mounted close you can not see where the wire
goes in. Since you need to remove the inner truck lid to install the rack
this exposes the Honda spoiler connector simply connect to this. In fact
this is the easy part since it is right there easy access. The nice thing
about this light is it can work both ways as a running light and brake
light just make you selection when connecting or do both.
I also chrome striped this molding holding the
led light again to blend in with the rack. It looks like it is part of it.
