Installed July 19, 2002, By Randy

First shots are with mug & ring in "recommended" position, which is pointing toward the back. The last three are with the ring mounted toward the front which will place the mug a little farther forward and perhaps easier to reach. We haven't ridden since mounting it, so have no recommendation at this point.

Purchased from Glass Act, who designed and makes the product. Can't say enough good things about the way Mike and Rita Vine treat their customers.

Mounting was easy.

  1. Per Mike's recommendation, I removed the antenna whip. There is a ring with two flats (I believe 14mm) where it separates from the base.
  2. Next, from inside the trunk, remove the two bolts that hold the base to the trunk.
  3. Pull a little cable through the grommet, as the grommet will stay against the trunk.
  4. Slip in the bracket and spacers (clip off the cable ties that hold these pieces together for shipping).
  5. Fasten it all back to the trunk with the new, longer bolts and washers. Don't tighten too much. These aren't shoulder bolts that will "stop" like the originals.
  6. Mount the mug ring.
  7. Reinstall the whip. Make sure that it folds in the proper direction before tightening the ring.
  8. Go for a ride and enjoy!
